Wrecks are history

The specialty is popular because it offers rewarding adventures while following responsible diving practice. There are many kinds of wrecks, and some are protected by laws that safeguard their historical and cultural significance. Training begins with the guidelines for researching and respecting wrecks.

Over the four dives

  • safety considerations for navigating and exploring wrecks;
  • surveying and mapping a wreck;
  • using penetration lines and reels to guide exploration;
  • techniques that avoid stirring up silt, clouding the water or disturbing the wreck and its inhabitants.

Our wrecks

We are proud of a portfolio of more than 10 wrecks, from Second World War submarines and warships to stranded merchant ships. The history, depths and context of each are in the wreck atlas.
